Welcome to unsaken. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use the unsaken mobile application (the "App" or "Service").
By using unsaken, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use our Service.
Geographic Service Restrictions
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The following users are currently unable to use unsaken until further notice:
European Union (EU) Users
Users located in the European Union (EU) are currently restricted from accessing and using unsaken. This restriction is in place because the developer has not yet accepted the Digital Services Act (DSA) agreement required for providing services to EU residents.
Affected regions include: All EU member states (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Liechtenstein).
We are actively working to comply with DSA requirements and will update this policy once the service becomes available to EU users.
Israeli Users
Users located in Israel are currently restricted from accessing and using unsaken until further notice.
If you are located in one of the restricted regions listed above, please do not create an account or use the Service. Any accounts created from these regions may be subject to termination.

Important: Your data is NOT used to train AI models. AI providers process your data transiently to fulfill specific requests and do not retain your information.

4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Where We Store Your Data
Your data is stored using Firebase Cloud Firestore, which uses Google Cloud Platform infrastructure. Data may be stored in data centers located in various countries, including the United States.
4.2 How We Protect Your Data
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
Encryption in transit using HTTPS/TLS
Encryption at rest through Firebase's built-in security
Secure authentication using Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In with OAuth 2.0
Access controls limiting employee and system access to data
API key security using build-time configuration (not hardcoded)

4.3 Data Security Limitations
While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services.

Deleted upon account deletion request (see Section 7.2)

Retained while friendships/matches are active
Deleted when you unfriend a user or upon account deletion

Update your profile information at any time through the App's settings (except for your email address, which is linked to your authentication provider, and your date of birth, which is used to calculate your age after registration, ensure to double-check your DoB before registration)

Request corrections if you cannot make them yourself
6.3 Deletion
You have the right to:
Delete your account at any time through the App's account settings
Request deletion of specific data (subject to legal and operational limitations)
What happens when you delete your account:
Your profile is permanently removed
Your matches and conversations are deleted
Your data is removed from our active systems within 30 days
Some data may be retained in backups for up to 90 days
Aggregated anonymized data may be retained
6.4 Object to Processing
You have the right to object to:

7. Children's Privacy
7.1 Age Requirement
unsaken requires users to be at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7.2 Parental Consent
If you are between 13 and 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you should review this Privacy Policy with your parent or guardian and ensure they consent to your use of the Service.
7.3 Discovery of Underage Users
If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information immediately. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact andrei_ivanciu@icloud.com.
8. International Data Transfers
unsaken is operated from Canada. If you are located outside Canada, please be aware that information we collect will be transferred to and processed in Canada and other countries where our service providers operate.
By using unsaken, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws.

14.1 On-Device AI Processing
Semantic Matching:
Uses Apple's Natural Language framework
Processes your interests and profile data locally on your device
Does not transmit complete profile data to external servers
